Terms of Service

Please read these terms before using LifeOS. By creating an account, you agree to them.

 Important — not financial advice

LifeOS is a financial organisation and planning tool. Nothing in the product constitutes regulated financial advice, tax advice, or investment recommendations. Numbers, projections, and suggestions are illustrative planning aids based on publicly available rules and the data you enter. Always consult a qualified financial adviser, accountant, or solicitor before making significant financial decisions.

1. The service

LifeOS provides a private financial planning and life-strategy tool for households. Features include income tracking, goal projection, mortgage modelling, bill management, and connected bank data via Open Banking (TrueLayer).

2. Your account

You must be 18 or over and a UK resident to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. The Household is the billing unit — subscription fees are charged per household, not per user. Partners you invite share your household subscription at no extra cost.

3. Subscription & payment

LifeOS operates a subscription model with Free, Essential, Family, and Pro tiers. Subscription fees are charged monthly or annually. You may cancel at any time from your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No partial-period refunds are issued except where required by law. Pricing may change with 30 days' notice.

4. Open Banking (TrueLayer)

If you connect your bank account, the connection is established through TrueLayer (FCA FRN 901096). By connecting your bank, you authorise TrueLayer to provide LifeOS with read-only access to your account data. You may revoke this access at any time. LifeOS is not responsible for TrueLayer's service availability or any data they process under their own terms.

5. Your data

You own your data. We hold it to provide the service. See our Privacy Policy for full details. You may export or delete your data at any time.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to: use LifeOS to store data relating to any person without their knowledge; attempt to access another household's data; reverse-engineer or scrape the service; use the service for any unlawful purpose.

7. Not financial advice

LifeOS provides tools to help you organise and model your finances. It does not provide regulated financial advice. Projections are estimates based on the data you enter and may not reflect your actual financial situation. Tax calculations use published HMRC rates but may not account for your individual circumstances. We strongly recommend consulting qualified professionals for tax, investment, pension, and legal matters.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LifeOS's liability for any claim arising from use of the service is limited to the subscription fees paid by you in the three months preceding the claim. We are not liable for any loss of data, indirect losses, or decisions made in reliance on the service.

9. Service availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may suspend the service for maintenance, security, or legal reasons. We will give reasonable notice where possible.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms with 14 days' notice via email or an in-app notification. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
